Minutes of April 19th, 2007 Meeting
President Russ McQuate, K8RMC opened the meeting at 19:30
hours with 13 members and guests present.
The membership was introduced.
Secretary’s Report
A copy of the minutes for the last WARC meeting held
February 16, 2007 was available. Meeting was not held during March. A motion to accept this report was made by
John, KF4uty and 2nd by Harvey, KD8CMN. This motion was voted and passed.
Treasurer’s Report
The clubs treasurer presented a report detailing the current
finances of the WARC. A motion to
accept this report was made by Charlie, KC8CMN and 2nd by Mark,
N8MFS. This motion was voted and
passed.
Trustee’s Report – Mark, N8MFS
- Still
need to adjust the 21 repeater output.
- The
21 repeater has been programmed to return to PL after the net.
- Building
a pre-amp for use with the repeater or the portable repeater.
Emergency Coordinator – Duane WD8BVV
- Tornado
drill was held during March.
Checked out Hospital radio during the net.
- We
did a comm. Check between the Justice Center & Overton bridge area.
- Removed
unused cables from JC roof, replaced antenna & guide wires removed
during construction work.
Skywarn – Duane WD8BVV
- Skywarn
training – several new at Wooster; 72 attended at Orrville – 68 were new.
Steering Committee – Stan N8RNK
DX Group – Tom N8JBG
- March
meeting was held at Gooses House.
- Next
meeting is April 24th at Russ’s House.
- Special
events: Talked about antennas, Swain Island DX event.
- Field
day preparations – 2A + GOTA radio’s this year June 23/24. Need SSB operators.

by Charlie, KC8CMN and 2nd by Tom, N8JBG to allocate $60 for
Spring Wing Ding door prizes.

for field day expenses not to exceed $250. motion voted and passed
- John,
KF4UTY sent a letter to Major West, commander of the local Salvation Army
outlining / suggestions for a communications plan for her chapter. She was advised to purchase a
commercial radio (Motorola) from the local vendor and have it programmed
where she can communicate with her local vehicles and those from Cleveland
and include the county emergency net frequency. He also recommended she check with Saturn Hq in Chicago as
to what frequencies the net operates on and then purchase HF equipment for
that requirement.
- Bill
Blanchard emailed Russ – requesting digital photos of Wayne County
Agriculture. The photos will be
combined into a book. Anyone can
submit photos. Contact Russ for
additional information.
