1770 (age 35) Defends the British soldiers who kill 5 Americans in the Boston Massacre.  
1774 (age 39) Delegate to Continental Congress; helps write Declaration of Independence  
     
1789 Elected Vice President under G.Washington

1796 (age 60) Elected 2nd President of the U.S.
