Psst Storytelling Guild Centered in Boardman, Ohio
Upcoming Meeting Schedule
Regular meetings are scheduled from 7-9 PM on the fourth Sunday of the months September through April in the lounge at the left rear corner of the lobby at the main entrance of the Greenbriar Care Center, 8064 South Avenue, Boardman, OH 44512. The first part of most meetings is dedicated to whatever business the club has to go over (planning for special events to take our telling to the community, planning for our annual Psst Conference, committee reports, communications and information from other clubs and events, etc.). This is followed by a short workshop, demonstration, lecture, or discussion of interest to members. The later part of most meetings is devoted to storytelling with members and guests volunteering to tell some of their favorite stories or trying out some of their newest efforts (with or without constructive criticism according to their desires). Between stories, people at the meetings often share in discussion about such subjects as puppets, dialects, musical accompaniment, story sources, and more. New members and visitors are always welcome, and everyone from professionals to those with no previous storytelling experience should feel comfortable.
Psst Heartful of Stories Storytelling Conference
Psst had its second "Heartful of Stories" storytelling conference in March 1998. It featured Lucinda Flodin & Dennis Frederick, The Storyweavers of Illinois.
Psst held its first "Heartful of Stories" storytelling conference in April 1996. The successful event featured Roger Sams in concert and workshops as well as workshops by several members of our own guild: Linda Fiorelli, Jocelyn Dabney, David Flood, and Regina Rees. Other members helped in many ways to make the event work. We are looking forward to our next conference. Information about it and other conferences and festivals will also be posted here to help keep you up to date. Contact Bill Schilling with details about your event or with other questions about things listed here.
